"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen..."
Where is the certainty in that? Exactly! It seems there is none. But that is just my lack of faith talking.
The more that i ponder the subject of faith, the more i realize that it is the critical piece needed to unlock God's power, today. Faith is the acknowledgement that God IS and is capable.

During the last three years, I have received a lot of encouragement from the Lord through prophetic words that He would give people for me. Now, I understand that some of you might not agree with the idea of prophecy, but I believe that a living God is more than capable of speaking.
Many of these prophetic words have dealt with the same subjects... some even being identical. I understand what God is telling me, but I haven't seen much of it come to pass yet. So, the other day I prayed that God would show me what I need to do in order to bring these good things into reality. I prayed the simple prayer and then just started my normal Bible reading in Romans...

Then I reached the end of Romans 4.
Starting in Romans 4:13, Paul recounts God's promise to make Abraham the father of many nations. Abraham received this promise from God at a time when it was realistically impossible for him and his wife, Sarah, to conceive a child. But Abraham was unconvinced that reality or circumstance had anything to do with God's ability to accomplish His word and fulfill His promise.

In Romans 4:18, Paul wrote, "Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him..." It seems so simple. Abraham believed and became. In verse 20, Paul further explained Abraham's part of the process, "Yet he [Abraham] did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised."

The impossible nature of his circumstances didn't weaken Abraham's faith, but strengthened it. Because he understood that his God was the God who, "gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they are." Hebrews 11:3 says it so well, "By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." God does not operate in OUR reality. To relegate Him to our reality is to say that we don't believe that He has the ability to act beyond our reality - through the impossible.... when He actually thrives in our impossibilities. God is a creator, and if God can create something from nothing, surely He is capable of keeping His promises.

Believing in the face of impossibility, unfavorable circumstance and opposition is an acknowledgement that God IS who He says He is and that He has the power to accomplish what He says He will. It is faith... So, if your situation looks impossible and out-of-reach, it just might be the perfect opportunity for God to move powerfully on your behalf... don't lose faith, let it grow and never doubt that He is capable.
